Russian Doctor Fedorov and his famous clinic
Russia is famous for many doctors who have contributed to the development of world medicine, and in my opinion, I have to talk about one of these doctors and his name is Svyatoslav Fedorov.
At the outset, I would like to tell you about the life of this prominent doctor, who was born in Ukraine in 1936, and he and his family moved from one country to another throughout his childhood. It is worth noting that he always dreamed of becoming a doctor and at the age of nineteen he joined the Faculty of Medicine at the State Medical University.
In Rostov-on-Don, and after defending his doctoral thesis he came to Cheboksary, where he became the head of the State Institute of Ophthalmology in the name of “Helmholtz”.
In this period, Svyatoslav became interested in implanting artificial lenses.

As for his life in Moscow, he headed the Department of Ophthalmology, where he began to change the artificial cornea, and the creation of an artificial lens in cooperation with ophthalmologist Zakharov in 1962 is considered one of the main achievements of Fedorov, as he was the first doctor in the world who was able to remove glaucoma in 1973 His method was recognized internationally and used in the treatment of glaucoma all over the world. Ten years later Fedorov founded the Moscow Institute of Microscopic Surgery (MINTC), which became the most famous medical center in Russia. It is known that at the end of the twentieth century Svyatoslav Fedorov actively participated in Political activities allowed him to be elected to the State Duma, and he died in a car accident at the age of 72.
